Lent 28 : Stripped Away

In this piece the huge construction of sound is slowly peeled off to reveal the core. When this happens another joins in. Is it in time or out of time?

The desert strips much away but then we might be joined by a stranger from the deep who plays with us in time and out of time.

  1. the piano is so sad.. I love a sad piano.

The progression into simpler chords, with the piano only accompanied by the bass, registers a contemplative state that is very much Lent. One wonders what happened to the high declaration announced in the genesis of the piece, and what will come after it? Will there again be hope?

    Very dynamic piece
